Disk or network error

Hello everyone,
When I start a project and access a database I get the following erro: "Disk or network error". It worked without this error, but because I used the database name and the recordsource in the code and also in the data control, I removed them from the data control, but retained it in the code.
Immediately after I did this the error occurred. So I re-entered the databasename and the recordsource in the data control, but what the program did correct before I removed it, bringing it back again in the initial state did not remove the error. This is something I do not understand. The more so because with other databases with database name and recordsource in both the code and the data control the error does not happen. Removing the databasename and the recordsource from the data control with those databases did not cause the error.
The application has been developed in VB5, later by VB6, so I thought maybe this could be a cause, but redesigning that part of the application did not solve the problem. The database in question is not corrupted, because earlier it worked perfect.
Summarizing: I am at a loss. Who can help me? My email is jvdpeet01@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance.

kind regards,

Jan
