Which Version Of The Win APIs Does VB Use?

Not a very clear question. Sorry.

I just noticed that I have a number of copies of kernel32.dll on my computer. The dates run from 2004 to 2012. How can I make sure that VB uses the latest? Where does it look for this file, by default?
