I realise that there have been numerous posts on this subject but none of the answers I've seen fit my question. I'm writing a secure messaging application in VB6.0. As part of the application there is a need to verify the user's email credentials using the default MAPI/email client. I'm looking to keep the solution client independent. All attempts with the VB MAPI session control result in error 48389. I've seen numerous methods for sending and receiving mail, but all of the code I've tried results in the same error. I would appreciate any help you can provide as I really need to get past this stumbling block.
