I have the following problem.
I'm using VB6 to open a Word document and before I open the document I add mergefields.
These fields can be put on the document, and saved, so later in the process I can create letters based on the standard document with merge fields.
Some of our customers use the security options of office to protect their documents.
This works fine in Office 2003.
Since Office 2007 (and later) the protection area is not avaiable as soon as there are merge fields added to Word.
When I open the document without the merge fields added, the protection area is available.
Has anyone any Idea what I can do to get this working again?
Do I have to change my code to open office or my Word document (if so, please an example)
Or are there any settings in Office which needs to be set?
