Hello All,
I am looking to start a re-write of my production apps in case vb6 compiled .exe do not work on future versions of windows.
Since I am going to re-write, I figure might as well go cross-platform. I will also need to talk to lots of hardware/software dll's.
I do know .net /Mono might be an option, but from what I've seen cross platform support on the level I need it is not there.
I have evaluated www.xojo.com, the ide is horridly slow
I briefly looked at kbasic/qbasic 7 just didn't click for me
I looked ad Jabaco, but it's java, just like .net no thank you.
I looked and studied QT-Qt Creator, but all that extra code (;, declare/then implement) is just too much extra work for my spoiled vb6 butt. plus its 7k
I looked into www.xerocoder.com, it has really clicked for me, but need to test it more to make sure
Having said all this, I might be wrong about all of this. Has anyone on here migrated an hardware controller, not a typical business app away from vb6 with great success, please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks for your time
